Mercantile Bank PLC has introduced a new Bangla QR Code based service to enhance the convenience and technological advancement of their banking facilities. Now, customers of Mercantile Bank can purchase and make payment utilizing `MBL Rainbow’ app easier than ever through Bangla QR Code service. Md. Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, Managing Director of the bank inaugurates the service July 09, 2024 at Bank’s Head Office. Mati Ul Hasan, AMD, Adil Raihan, Shamim Ahmed, Md. Mahmood Alam Chowdhury and Ashim Kumar Saha, Deputy Managing Directors; CFO Tapash Chandra Paul, PhD; Mohammad Iqbal Rezwan, SEVP; Abu Asghar G. Haruni, Company Secretary & Head of HR, Mostafizur Rahman, Head of Card Division and Digital Banking & Innovation Division, along with other senior officials of the bank, were also present at the ceremony.

In his speech, Md. Quamrul Islam Chowdhury mentioned that the introduction of the `Bangla QR code’ service is aimed at simplifying shopping and various payment processes for customers. He emphasized that customers have the convenience of making payments at any merchant point displaying the ‘Bangla QR Code’. MBPLC customers can avail of this service by using their Savings or Current Account deposits through the `MBL Rainbow’ app, which is the digital banking service of the bank. the `Bangla QR Code’ service is free and secure, with customers receiving SMS notifications for each transaction. Customers can spend up to BDT 20,000 per day and BDT 100,000 per month through this service.
