Credit Rating Information and Services Limited (CRISL) has reaffirmed the rating of Mercantile Bank Limited with “AA-” (pronounced as double A minus) in Long Term and reaffirms “ST-2” rating in Short Term based on financials up to December 31, 2010.
MBL’s Long Term Rating has been reaffirmed to “AA-” which implies that the bank is adjudged to be of high quality, offer higher safety and have high quality. This level of rating indicates MBL as a corporate entity with a sound credit profile and without significant problems. Risks are modest and may vary slightly from time to time because of economic condition.
The Short Term rating “ST-2” indicates high certainty of timely repayment. Liquidity factors are strong and supported by good fundamental protection factors. Risk factors are very small.
